We finally booked an Adventures by Disney trip!

After sailing with Disney Cruise Line four times (and with three more future Disney Cruises booked), we have been flirting with the idea of stepping out of our travel box with an Adventures by Disney vacation for a while now. With itineraries ranging from long weekends in New York or San Francisco to eleven or twelve nights in Australia or China, ABD offers all-inclusive luxury family vacations in the real world, almost anywhere you'd wish to explore. In fact, the only thing holding us back has been deciding which would be our first. Would a short domestic trip be the way to dip our toes in all that ABD has to offer? Or would ABD be the way to finally explore Europe (but then would it be France, Italy, England)? Should we do a land trip, a culinary tour, an active adventure trip, or a river cruise (straight off my bucket list)? The possibilities are, almost literally, endless.

So when ABD announced in January the new Seine River Cruise itinerary, with seven nights on board the AmaLyra river cruise ship plus two additional nights in Paris, it definitely piqued my interest. Then I realized that 2019 will be ten years since I lost my mom, and Paris was her favorite place on earth; it is one of my deepest regrets that we did not have the chance to visit Paris together before she died. Now add to this a small inheritance that we wanted to use for something really special. All of these seemed a sort of serendipitous converging of factors, which I took to be a sign. It's time to go to Paris!

"Adventure by Disney trips are costly, but you get an all-inclusive, no-planning required vacation in the trusted hands of Disney with dedicated, experienced Adventure Guides leading the way. You will not find Mickey and Minnie Mouse (or any other Disney character) on these trips, but rather authentic stories of the local destination sprinkled with the country's own distinct traditions. If you can afford it, Adventures by Disney offers a luxurious, hassle-free vacation."

I booked our trip with the help of my wonderful travel agent Karen Shelton at My Path Unwinding Travel. If you're interested in learning more about Adventures by Disney, join in the fun and conversation in this group! It's a great place to ask questions, read trip reports, see photos, and more.
